Planning around the working week
Tell us when you can stop and when you must reopen. We plan the move inside that window.

For a small business, the hard part of a move is the time the doors are closed, so the plan starts there. Tell us when you can stop working, when you need to be open again, and what has to work first at the new place: the phones, the front desk, the register or the server.
If the building allows it and your business can manage it, moving at the end of a week leaves the weekend for your own setup. Tell us the window you have, and we'll say plainly what fits inside it.
Staff can pack their own desks into labeled boxes in the last hours of the last day, while we take care of the furniture, files and equipment. If you'd rather we packed the whole office, our packing services cover that too.

Computers, files and stock
Screens padded and kept upright, records boxed in drawer order, shop stock boxed by shelf.

We wrap computers, monitors and printers in quilted pads, keep screens upright, and load them where nothing will be stacked on top. Unplugging and reconnecting your network is a job for your IT person or provider, so book them for both ends of the move.
Records are boxed in drawer order, with every box numbered, so the filing reads the same way at the new office. Keep anything confidential, along with your backups, with someone you trust rather than on the truck.
For a shop, we move shelving, display fixtures and stock, and take apart anything that won't fit through the door in one piece. Stock is boxed by shelf or section and labeled to match a plan of the new layout, so restocking is a matter of opening boxes in order.
Building rules at both ends
Certificates, loading docks, service elevators and move hours, booked at both buildings before the day.

Commercial buildings can set their own rules for moves, such as a certificate of insurance before the day, a loading dock or service elevator booked for a set time, and move hours away from the busiest part of the day. Ask both landlords or managers for the rules in writing and send them to us, so the certificate names the right parties and both ends are booked.
Tell us where the truck can stand at each building and how far that is from the door or the dock. A long walk through a lobby, or a loading area shared with other tenants, changes how the day is planned.

Desk by desk
Every desk numbered on a floor plan, so on the first morning people find their own.

Before the move, mark a floor plan of the new space with a number for every desk, office and room. Every box, chair and piece of equipment gets the number of the spot it's going to, and we place it there, so on the first morning people find their own desks instead of a pile of boxes.
Desks, tables and shelving that came apart are put back together in place, and equipment is left on the desk it belongs to, ready for your IT person to connect. If something isn't where you want it at the end, tell us before we leave.
Questions about office and business moves
All questionsDo you set up our computers and network?
We wrap, move and place the equipment, and connecting it is a job for your IT person or provider, who knows your systems. Book them for the first day in the new space, so the phones and computers are working when your staff arrive.
Do you move shops as well as offices?
Yes. A shop moves the same basic way, with extra planning for shelving, fixtures and stock. Tell us about any heavy or unusual equipment at the walkthrough, so we can include it in the estimate or tell you plainly if it's something we don't move.
Do you need to see the new space too?
If it's possible, yes. Seeing the new space, the route from the truck and the loading arrangements helps us plan where things go and how long the day will take. You can request a quote to set up the walkthrough.
