Across the county line

Just over the Hillsboro Canal into Broward, and still a shorter trip for us than Lake Worth Beach.

The Hillsboro Canal marks the line between Palm Beach County and Broward County, and Deerfield Beach begins on its south bank. At 11.5 miles and about 17 minutes from our office without traffic, it is a shorter trip for us than Lake Worth Beach.

Crossing into another county does not change how we work as local movers: you get an estimate in writing and a date planned around your building's rules. A household move within Florida falls under the state's rules for movers, and our guide on how to check a Florida mover shows what to look up before you hire anyone, us included.

Century Village East

A large 55+ community. Ask your building's office about approval, entry and move hours before booking.

Century Village East is a large 55+ community of condominium buildings, and the association for your building sets the rules for a move. Before you book, ask the office whether a new resident needs approval, how a moving truck gets past the entrance, and which days and hours moves are allowed.

If your building has an elevator, we reserve it through the office; if it is a walk-up, we plan the stairs and bring enough hands for them. For a move from a larger home, see how our senior moving service helps with downsizing.

Beach parking is shared, so we start early on a weekday. A drawbridge wait is built into the schedule.

East of the Intracoastal, condos stand along A1A near the Deerfield Beach International Fishing Pier. Street parking there is shared with beachgoers, so we aim for an early weekday start and a loading spot agreed with the building in advance.

From the mainland we usually cross on the Hillsboro Boulevard bridge, a drawbridge, and when it opens for a boat we wait with everyone else. That wait is counted into the schedule from the start, so an opening does not throw off the time we gave you.

Moving in Deerfield Beach: questions

All questions
Is a move from Delray Beach to Deerfield Beach a local move?

It is, even though it crosses from Palm Beach County into Broward County. At 11.5 miles from our office it is a short local move, and we plan it like one.

Do you move people out of Deerfield Beach too?

We move people from Deerfield Beach north to Boca Raton, Delray Beach and Boynton Beach, south and west to Pompano Beach, Lighthouse Point and Coconut Creek, and from one Deerfield Beach address to another. Give us both addresses and we will plan the route and the timing around them.

Does the county line change anything on moving day?

Not for the crew or the truck. What changes is the paperwork at each end: a Broward association and a Palm Beach County one can ask for different things, so send us the rules from both buildings and we will meet each set.

Moving in or out of Deerfield Beach?

Tell us where you are moving from and to. A walkthrough, in person or by video, sets the number before anything is booked.
