Downtown, The Ave to Beachside
Apartments, townhomes and small condos near Atlantic Avenue. We start early, before the curb fills.

Downtown Delray Beach is made up of six districts: The Ave along Atlantic Avenue, SOFA just south of it, West Atlantic (also known as The Set), Pineapple Grove, the arts district along NE 2nd Avenue, the US1 corridor and Beachside. Homes there include apartments, townhomes and small condo buildings a short walk from restaurants and shops.
On a downtown move the hard part is often the curb rather than the stairs, because parking near The Ave gets scarce as the day goes on. As local movers we like to start early and load before the street fills, and we ask your building or the city where a truck may stand.

Historic districts and the water
Narrow doors in five historic districts, drawbridges to Nassau Park, and docks and pool decks on the canals.

Delray Beach was named an All-America City in 1993, 2001 and 2017, and its older streets are protected in five historic districts: West Settlers, Old School Square, Del-Ida Park, Marina and Nassau Park. Houses there can have narrow doorways, tight turns on the stairs and wood floors worth protecting. We pad the door frames, lay runners on the floors and take a bed or table apart when it will not make a turn in one piece.
Nassau Park is the only one of the five east of the Intracoastal, so reaching it from the mainland means crossing a drawbridge. The bridges at George Bush Boulevard, Atlantic Avenue and Linton Boulevard all open for boats, and we leave room in the schedule for a wait rather than rush the crew to make up the time.
Along the water, in Seagate, Lake Ida and the deep-water canals of Tropic Isle, a move can include patio furniture, outdoor rugs and whatever lives on the dock or the pool deck. Tell us about the outside of the house as well as the inside, and we will bring the wrapping and the time it needs.

Kings Point and 55+ communities
Kings Point, Lakes of Delray, Huntington Pointe and more. Each association sets its own move rules.

Delray Beach's 55+ communities sit west of the city center: Kings Point, Lakes of Delray, Palm Greens, Huntington Pointe, Rainberry Bay, High Point and the Villages of Oriole. Kings Point alone has about 7,200 homes, built between 1973 and 1985.
Each association writes its own rules. Some want notice before a move, the mover's name at the gatehouse or a move inside set hours, and some approve a new resident before the keys change hands. Ask the office early and pass the rules to us, and if the move is part of downsizing, read about our senior moving service.
Moving in Delray Beach: questions
All questionsDo you only move people within Delray Beach?
We are a moving company in Delray Beach, but we also move people between here and the other cities we serve in Palm Beach and Broward counties. For a move further away inside Florida, see long-distance moving.
When should I book a move in Delray Beach?
As soon as you have a date, and earlier still if it falls in late October, November or the weeks after Easter, when many seasonal residents arrive or leave. Hurricane season runs from June 1 to November 30, so a summer or fall move should have a backup date. Our snowbird moving checklist covers the seasonal side.
Moving in or out of Delray Beach?
Tell us where you are moving from and to. A walkthrough, in person or by video, sets the number before anything is booked.
